I recently had the pleasure of helping to plan the Equitable Language Industry Roundtable at UC Berkeley. This event brought together 45 people from across the tech industry to discuss how to make our industry more inclusive through the use of language.

Growing up in Harlem, I felt like an outsider in the tech industry. I saw a gap between the needs of my community and the priorities of tech companies. However, my passion for language, technology, and prioritizing systemically marginalized people only grew stronger.
